We are looking for a Communication and Marketing Trustee to be part of a friendly and supportive team and join us in this exciting opportunity. This trustee position will play a central role in developing the charity.

What will you be doing?

What will you being doing?

  • develop the launch and ongoing communication and marketing strategy for the charity.
  • Lead a team of volunteers to implement startegy.
  • Oversee communications activity such a social media marketing and public engagement opportunities to support raising awareness of SRF
  • Lead on the marketing of merchandise in conjunction with the trustee for income generation.

Additional responsibilities relating to the trustee position:

  • Contribute actively to the Board of Trustees in accordance with the Charity Commission's regulations and SRF's governing document and Code of Conduct
  • Use any specific skills, knowledge or experience to help the Board of Trustees reach sound decisions. This will involve scrutinising board papers, leading discussions, focussing on key issues, and providing advice and guidance requested by the board on new initiatives, or other issues, to the area of the charity's work in which the trustee has special expertise.
  • Act as an ambassador for SRF and represent the interests of all stakeholders.

  • A love of spaniels
  • A strong background in marketing and communications and preferably with experience developing and implementing a communication or marketing strategy
  • Enthusiasm to play an active role on the board and in fulfilling SRF's purpose
  • Strong communication skills
  • Successful relationship building and influencing skills
  • Experience of developing social media content and campaigns
  • IT skills and data analysis

What difference will you make?

The role is key in building the supporter and volunteer network on which the charity bases its activity. Finding effective ways of communicating and engaging with dog lovers who can support us in lots of ways; through donations, offering foster homes, and other volunteering opportunities.
