Project: We are embarking on an exciting initiative to obtain Ofsted approval for accommodation linked to our Alternative school, dedicated to young people aged 13 to 16 years.

What will you be doing?

Our mission is to create a nurturing home forĀ vulnerable young people. To achieve this, we are seeking dedicated volunteers to assist in developing and establishing essential policies, standards, costing, feasibility, and staffing requirements

Role Overview: As a Children's Home Project Member volunteer, you will play a pivotal role in the initial phases of our project. Your focus will be on supporting the application for Ofsted approval, ensuring that our accommodation meets the highest standards for the well-being and development of young people.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with the team to develop comprehensive policies and standards aligned with Ofsted requirements.
  • Contribute to the assessment of costing and feasibility for the accommodation project.
  • Work closely with stakeholders to identify and address staffing needs, ensuring a well-supported and qualified team.

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Passion for the well-being and development of young people.
  • Knowledge about Ofsted requirements for accommodation.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Ability to contribute to policy development, costing, feasibility, and staffing discussions.

The Volunteer Children's Home Project Member should bring a diverse skill set to contribute effectively.

Key skills include policy development aligned with Ofsted standards, research for regulatory compliance, financial acumen for budgeting and costing, strong communication for collaboration, teamwork proficiency, problem-solving abilities, attention to detail in policy development, an understanding of residential care challenges, knowledge or willingness to learn about human resources, alignment with the school's mission and values, empathy towards the needs of young people, and basic project management skills.

A comprehensive team, each contributing their strengths, is essential for the successful development of the Children's Home Project in the boarding school.
