Welcome to Reach Volunteering. We are a community and registered charity that connects people, skills and good causes.

To apply for this role, and any other on our platform, you need to be based in the UK, have at least three years of experience using the skills you wish to volunteer in a professional capacity or have lived experience (for trustee roles). Read more about our criteria.

At Haemochromatosis UK, we support those affected by genetic Haemochromatosis. We have recently written a story book for children, which explains what it is like to be affected by Haemochromatosis, to the younger generation.

What will you be doing?

We would love you to create illustrations for our storybook. These will be used to enhance the storytelling experience and support comprehension of the story

  • You will complete illustrations remotely, based on the written content we provide.
  • We would love some bright, creative visuals to hold the young reader’s attention, whilst helping to convey emotions and ideas that the words alone may not be able to express.

What are we looking for?

We are looking for an experienced illustrator/ artist with a passion for children’s stories.

You may have knowledge or understanding of genetic Haemochromatosis, or other genetic/ chronic conditions, but this is not essential.

What difference will you make?

We hope that these illustrations will also lead to parent/ carer – child discussions about the story, encouraging healthy conversations about the condition.
