To provide vision and leadership for the charity’s Human Resources and People matters, to include; Culture, Strategy and Policies for its two projects; Collaboration for Kids & Food Addiction Solutions. 

What will you be doing?

As CPCO, you will lead people initiatives that foster an inclusive, collaborative and solutions-focused culture within The CHC. 

In the role of CPCO and a member of The CHC Executive Leadership Team, you will build and deliver a People Strategy and structure that meets the ambitions and supports the long-term sustainability of The CHC. 

You will take the lead on all HR and People matters using your professional knowledge, strategic experience and team building capabilities to help deliver the vision of The CHC Executive Leadership Team. This includes the development of volunteer recruitment, retention and succession planning strategies as well as providing proactive leadership.

Your responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following functional responsibilities: 

  • Shaping the strategy, setting SMART Goals and leading your Functional Project Team(s) within CFK and FAS, as appropriate to achieve the goals of these projects. 
  • Supporting the building of your functional project teams, with appropriately qualified people and sufficient resources, to achieve the goals and strategic objectives set for the two projects. 
  • Proactively identifying and managing risks and quality issues as appropriate to your functional areas within the two Projects. 

What are we looking for?

  • Proven experience in senior HR leadership roles, preferably as a HRD, CPO, CHRO, or a similar position
  • Strong knowledge of HR best practices, employment law and regulations
  • Experience of working within the voluntary sector with a wide variety of stakeholders (desirable)
  • Excellent written and oral communications skills in English 
  • Excellent interpersonal skills including ability to establish and maintain effective working and collaborative relationships 
  • A visible passion for healthy lifestyle and for engaging in charitable work to contribute to improved public health, especially of children and adolescents
  • A genuine enthusiasm for collaboration, team building, standards of excellence, innovation, continuous improvement and constructive change
  • A team player who is positive, ‘hands-on’ and able to get the best out of a team

As a team of volunteers, we are ever so grateful to everyone who agrees to contribute some of their valuable time to CHC, but as a minimum we ask for a commitment of 4-6 hours per week. 

All are voluntary positions, with no remuneration offered other than what we hope will be a huge amount of job satisfaction and fun, working with like minded people with a passion for making a real difference to future generations.
