Would you like to make a real difference to London’s rivers and waterways? London Waterkeeper is looking for a Fundraising Trustee. This is an exciting opportunity to join a small growing charity, which is part of a global network.

What will you be doing?

About You:

You’re flexible and able to adapt quickly and react positively to the charity’s needs and any changes in strategy.

This is an unpaid, voluntary role.

About Us:

London Waterkeeper was set up by our CEO Theo Thomas in 2014 to defend rivers and challenge polluters.

We want rivers in parks that flow free and healthy, homes that send their waste water only to sewage works, and clean, efficient industries that abide by all environmental laws. Only then will we have thriving rivers in our capital city.

London Waterkeeper is a member of Waterkeeper Alliance, a global federation working for fishable, drinkable and swimmable water.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Seek out and identify potential fundraising opportunities
  • Work with the other Trustees and CEO to fill out funding applications
  • Advise on our fundraising strategy
  • Build relationships with funders

What are we looking for?

  • Passionate about London’s rivers and waterways
  • Knowledge of water pollution issues would be an asset
  • Previous Trustee experience would be an asset
  • Demonstrable experience as a fundraiser
  • Willingness and ability to devote the necessary time and effort to meet the responsibilities of the role
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent written, IT and organisational skills
  • At least three years professional experience in a fundraising role
  • Skilled in strategic development and planning
  • Based in or near London

What difference will you make?

As a Fundraising Trustee, your role will be vital in helping us to thrive and grow, so we can continue to defend London's rivers and waterways from pollution.
