YMCA Cornwall is an independent charity providing supported housing for vulnerable young people aged 16-24 who are homeless or at risk.

What will you be doing?

YMCA Cornwall is looking for new Trustee for the Board.  In particular, we would welcome applicants who have strong financial skills able to become Treasurer.  This role would involve a short meeting once per month with the exception of August.

Trustees meet once every quarter although they are welcome at any time.

What are we looking for?

Finance

  • Accountancy / Auditing
  • Bookkeeping
  • Financial management

What difference will you make?

As part of YMCA Cornwall's board you will support and shape our work and strategic direction, as well as help us achieve our purpose of supporting young, homeless people.

The role of a trustee is a vital role, helping ensure we can continue our support for the young people on our site.  As a trustee, you will have a real opportunity to offer your unique skill set to help the strategic progression of the charity.

The role of Treasurer is also important to us - not only do we need someone to keep us on track financially and keep us viable, but even more significantly, we are looking for someone to help us formulate our vision for the future.

Trustees play a key role in our organisation.  Your commitment will ensure we continue to provide and extend our range of much-needed support and services to the young people we serve.

Before you apply

Please apply through Reach in the first instance.

Potential trustees will be required to meet with the current Chair and a member of the Board. Trustees will be required to complete a simple volunteer form once accepted.
