Youth-arts charity RicNic is looking for a volunteer to support their team with accounting advice on an ad hoc basis. We are looking for someone who has a working knowledge of Xero accounting and payroll software.
RicNic is a Walsall-based arts charity supporting children and young people to develop their confidence, skills and employability through participation in arts activities. We have a small team of 6 staff (1 FT, 5 PT) and we reach c.2000 young people each year through our projects, all of which are delivered free at the point of access.
We currently manage our day-to-day bookkeeping in-house and have an independent examination of our accounts on an annual basis. We use Xero accounting software for both our bookkeeping and payroll. We are looking for a volunteer who can support our team on an ad hoc basis on the more complex aspects of using Xero (e.g managing payroll journals) and advising on streamlining our accounts to help us report better on our funding in the future.
We anticipate this will require no more than 2-3 hours per month for a couple of months, but there would be a willingness from our side to continue an ad hoc relationship if you were interested.
* Experience or understanding of using Xero software
* Ability to impart knowledge to our team in a clear way
* Understanding of charity accounting and fundraising
You will be helping to upskill our team, making us work more efficiently and allowing us to then present a better case for support to our funders in the future. As our charity continues to grow, having this support at a core level will enable RicNic to be working with best practice in mind at all times.
