The charity is looking for an experienced Chair who can lead, govern and help ensure the charitable aims are met as we enter and plan the next phase of our growth.

What will you be doing?

We are looking for a Chair to lead and inspire who can:

  • Provide leadership to the organisation and the board by ensuring that everyone remains focused on the delivery of the organisation’s charitable purposes in order to provide greater public benefit
  • Ensure that Trustees fulfil their duties and responsibilities for the effective governance of the Charity
  • Chair and facilitate board meetings
  • Give direction to board policy-making
  • Check that decisions taken at meetings are implemented
  • Represent the organisation at functions and meetings, and act as a spokesperson as appropriate
  • Bring impartiality and objectivity to decision-making
  • Plan the annual cycle of board meetings and other general meetings where required, for example annual general meeting
  • Set agendas for board and other general meetings
  • Develop the board of trustees including induction, training, appraisal and succession planning
  • Address conflict within the board and within the organisation if needed.

An experienced Chair who is used to working with small charities and a desire to help end period poverty.
