We are a Mid Devon charity dedicated to supporting carers in our community. We are lookin for a chair to replace the present ocupant who wishes to retire.
The chair would be responsible for producing a monthly agenda for and chair the monthly meeting of trustees, to understand and promote the purposes of the Unite carers in Mid Devon. The person would act as line manager for the General Manager who would carry out all the day to day running of the charity. The chair would also act as figurehead for Unite and be the first point of contact with outside organisations. The work involved would not be onerous and decision taken would depend largely on monthly reports submitted to the Board by the three staff members .
We are looking for a friendly person with experience in Governance / Strategic development and planning, who can assert authority without upsetting in a firm and informed way. A person who wishes to put back something into society and who is prepared to interest themselves in the area of caring ideally with personal experience of such circumstances.
There are millions of care in the UK and a substantial number in Mid Devon itself. By providing the service that we do we are certain that we are improving the quality of life of all carers who come to us for help. We are always open to suggestion on ways in which this service can be improved and would welcom a new voice in the fold/
We hope that the person getting involved as a volunteer with Unite will get job satisfaction and the very relief belief that they are helping thein less fortunate member of our community.
