Welcome to Reach Volunteering. We are a community and registered charity that connects people, skills and good causes.

To apply for this role, and any other on our platform, you need to be based in the UK, have at least three years of experience using the skills you wish to volunteer in a professional capacity or have lived experience (for trustee roles). Read more about our criteria.

We are looking for a Chair to lead our small but successful charity.  Leadership experience is essential, and a background in education would be desirable, but most important is a willingness to work with others as part of a team.

What will you be doing?

The Chair will lead the board of Trustees in overseeing the financial and administrative management of the Charity and the preschool.  They will also contribute to fundraising.  We are a successful setting and are now looking to expand and modernise by moving all our administration to digital formats, and improving our advertising.  We are looking for someone who has a good understanding of educational settings and can work with both Trustees and staff to ensure we provide the very best for all the children in our care.

What are we looking for?

The ideal candidate will have a good knowledge of educational settings including educational leadership.  Experience in an EYFS setting would be ideal, but not essential. More important is the ability to lead others, ensure compliance with health & safety / safeguarding legislation and have strong experience of organisational leadership, strategic development and planning.

What difference will you make?

The trustee will enable us to keep our preschool open, and continue to grow.  Someone with the right leadership experience will really be able to support us as we continue to expand and modernise our setting.
