Join us at Langworthy Cornerstone Association (LCA) as a Chair of our Board of Trustee and use your expertise to transform the way we support the community of Seedley, Langworthy and adjoining areas in Salford.

What will you be doing?

What will you be doing?

You will play a key role in shaping Langworthy Cornerstone Association's future, enabling us to reach more people, enhance our services, and create lasting impact.

The role is voluntary and the time commitment will involve:

  • Attending monthly board meetings and our AGM.
  • Attendance at specific sub groups/committees. 

Overall average time commitment of maximum; 6 hours per month including training.

Reasonable Travel expenses will be reimbursed in line with Charity Commission guidelines.The Trustees developed an 8-point strategic plan and you will lead the Team towards further development and achievement of the strategic goals for the Organisation.

Specific Criteria for the Chair:

  • Ensure that the trustee body functions effectively, meetings are led inclusively, and the board carries out its duties.
  • Lead the board in governing itself well, setting the strategic direction of the charity, creating a positive culture within the charity and holding the CEO and staff properly accountable.
  • Monitoring the agreed actions from board meetings to ensure that decisions are implemented properly and in a timely manner.
  • Ensure that the trustee board annually reviews its structure, effectiveness, delegations and key policies, and implements agreed changes as necessary.
  • Build a strong, positive and respectful relationship with the CEO and engage staff, beneficiaries and other stakeholders.
  • Act as an ambassador for the charity, representing its interests and values to external stakeholders.

  • Strong communication and analytical skills
  • Minimum age of 18
