You will be at the helm of one of the sector's most exciting and impactful charities. Your leadership will set the strategic direction and tone for the charity, ensuring we continue to provide vital support to those who need it.

What will you be doing?

ASK PIP Charity is a relatively new CIO charity seeking to establish a robust board of trustees to enable us to continue to fulfil its cause. We are looking to recruit a new Chair for the board of trustees.

What are we looking for?

We require that the Chair of the trustee has a passion for supporting and advocating for children in the care system, children in need and low-income families.

Experienced in the field of management, education, social care, counsellor/therapist, and/or previous charity trustee/governor, and having an area of expertise in the list below would be advantageous.

A willingness to be a team player in supporting the charity to get the job done if necessary.

What difference will you make?

Key Responsibilities:

  • Leadership & Governance: Lead the Board, ensuring the charity fulfils its mission and complies with legal, ethical, and financial standards.
  • Strategic Direction: Collaborate with senior leaders to shape and review strategic objectives for long-term sustainability and impact.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Build relationships with donors, partners, and beneficiaries to strengthen the charity’s reputation.
  • Advocacy & Representation: Represent the charity at public events, championing its work and raising its profile.
  • Support & Mentorship: Guide the Chief Executive and staff, offering support and advice in overcoming challenges.
  • Board Development: Ensure the Board remains effective through recruitment, training, and development of Trustees.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Visionary Leader: Passionate about improving the lives of care-experienced children and young people.
  • Governance Experience: Senior leadership experience, ideally in the charity sector.
  • Exceptional Communication Skills: Ability to inspire and build relationships with diverse stakeholders.
  • Commitment & Dedication: Strong commitment to ASK PIP’s values and a desire to contribute.
  • Strategic Thinker: Capable of guiding the charity through challenges with clear, actionable strategies.
