We need people to help us fight the genocide occurring in West Papua and help with the economic development within the region.
Our ideal volunteer is someone who truly believes and is vehement about making a change. We want people committed to the plight of the West Papuan People and to want to help them find the justice they deserve. Obviously, ideally, if you have experience in campaign organisation, fundraising or bid writing would of course be a bonus but we welcome enthusiastic people that want to learn those skills as your team has years of experience to share with you.
Initially, we want to develop a Roastery that will employ college leavers, people that have fallen out of the system and lost graduates, offering them the opportunity to learn the skills of coffee making and obtain a solid career within the industry.
In the following years, we want to set up an office in a chosen region within West Papua. Obtain farmland for sales and supplies of organic, shade-grown coffee allowing for significant growth within the region. Which would include employment. Encourage smallholder coffee in the same region sustainably enhanced.
Promote youth and women to work with us and eventually manage their own agribusinesses for coffee. Be a beacon for sustainable production practices and a clean supply chain. Form partnerships and develop support instruments for knowledge sharing within the region that are already established or want to own micro-businesses.
This will help you develop your ethical activism. Grassroots fight to raise awareness about a people that seem forgotten and develop your skills within a team and an organisation that has often had to fight to express its own freedom of expression.
All are welcome and appreciated with the reward of team meeting free West Papuan coffee x
