Launch It are recruiting volunteers to provide business strategy mentoring that will support the young participants to ascertain relevant business needs and opportunities and identify relevant digital tools that align with these.

What will you be doing?

Digital Pioneers

The Digital Pioneers programme will empower 100 young founders to learn about a wide range of online tools, platforms, and AI technologies that can help them in setting up, managing, and growing their businesses.

The Digital Pioneers programme will provide this guidance by offering:

ü  A series of online masterclass sessions

ü  Mentoring

ü  1-2-1 advice from a Launch It Enterprise Manager

ü  Access to a library of digital resources

ü  Peer interactions via what’s app groups

ü  Inspirational speaker sessions on the topic of ‘Digital Breakthrough: Inspiring Transformation Stories"

ü  The opportunity to pitch for funding to put towards digital tools for the purpose of growing a business

 

Launch It are recruiting volunteers to provide business strategy mentoring that will support the young participants to ascertain relevant business needs and opportunities and identify relevant digital tools that align with these.

Interested volunteers will be required to:

  • Attend an information webinar about the project and mentoring opportunity (or watch the recording)
  • Become a mentor to a young person and provide a minimum of two mentoring sessions per mentee.  These can be virtual and organised at a time suitable to both parties.
  • Assist Launch It staff in gathering feedback and data for reporting on the Digital Pioneers project where necessary.
  • Provide ID and read the Launch It Code of Practice, E-safety guidelines, Video Conferencing guidelines and Safeguarding Adults Policy.

 

When will it take place?

The project will kick off on 4th February 2025 with an information session.  You can decide with your mentee when your individual sessions can take place. 

We are open to mentors from a wide range of backgrounds and experiences. While we are not looking for a specific type of person and have attached some examples of skills and experiences that could be particularly valuable.

  • Experience with Business Growth: Having scaled a business or guided others through business growth and transformation, particularly using digital tools or technologies.
  • Knowledge of Digital Strategies: Familiarity with areas like digital marketing, e-commerce, data analytics, or automation.
  • Tech Adoption Expertise: Understanding how to evaluate, implement, and integrate new technologies into existing workflows or business models.
  • Leadership and Team Building: Experience managing teams, fostering collaboration, and navigating change within an organisation.
  • Mentorship and Coaching: A passion for guiding others, along with the ability to communicate clearly and inspire confidence.
