Seeking a Business Development Representative volunteer to help us grow and maximise our impact for the young people we serve.

What will you be doing?

Responsible for identifying, engaging, and securing partnerships with corporate entities to support Start Young UK's mission. This role will focus on generating interest from potential partners, setting up meetings with the charities trustees, and potentially closing deals. The specialist will develop and implement outreach strategies, manage the sales pipeline, and build lasting relationships with corporate sponsors.

What you will be doing:

  • Identify potential corporate partners using various sources including LinkedIn, industry databases, and networking events.
  • Initiate and nurture relationships with key decision-makers in target companies through email, phone, and LinkedIn communications.
  • Set up qualified meetings between potential partners and Start Young UK's trustees or leadership team.
  • Sales Pipeline Management: Maintain an accurate and up-to-date pipeline of potential partnerships, tracking all interactions and next steps.
  • (optional) Create tailored partnership proposals that align Start Young UK's needs with the CSR goals of potential corporate partners.
  • (Optional) Assist in preparing compelling presentations and materials for partnership meetings.
  • Market Research: Stay informed about CSR trends, competitor activities, and potential partnership opportunities in the youth development sector.
  • Track and report on outreach activities, success rates, and pipeline health to inform strategy refinement.
  • (optional) For more experienced candidates, take on the role of closing partnerships and managing ongoing relationship

What we are looking for:

  • Proven track record in B2B sales, business development, or corporate fundraising, preferably in the non-profit sector.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication abilities, with the capacity to engage effectively with corporate executives.
  • Strong ability to build and maintain professional networks and relationships.
  • Capacity to develop and implement effective outreach and engagement strategies.
  • Ability to handle rejection positively and persistently pursue opportunities.
  • Aptitude for conducting thorough research on potential partners and their CSR interests.
  • Ability to create and deliver compelling presentations and proposals.
  • Strong focus on achieving partnership and revenue targets.
  • Genuine interest in Start Young UK's mission and ability to articulate our impact convincingly.
