We're seeking an experienced Business Development Volunteer to help establish an operational strategy for funding and identify opportunities for growth. We believe this is an exciting opportunity to deliver meaningful social change in Ghana.

What will you be doing?

A key priority for SIDI-GHANA is the construction of a modern, sustainable community marketplace within the next 12 months.  This will provide a structured and secure trading space for hundreds of market traders, predominantly women, to sell their goods, grow their businesses, and contribute to local economic development.

To bring strategic oversight to Board deliberations. Previous Board membership is not a requirement but would be appreciated.

A commitment to leveraging business activities for social good, particularly in the areas of securing  funds for international economic development programs

A proactive, self-motivated approach which aligns with SIDI-GHANA'S business model.

To work with the small team, in developing and implementing strategies to grow revenue across SIDI_GHANA's services, including market construction, access to educational programs, and social enterprise initiatives.

What are we looking for?

Senior Management with proven track record for securing funding. To advise and assist the Board on alternative approaches to funding to support SIDI-GHANA’s social impact projects.

Entrepreneurial Mindset

Clear understanding for revenue growth

Team Player with excellent communication skills

What difference will you make?

We are building opportunities and resilience.  The impact of this project will be measurable and long-lasting:

  • Economic Empowerment: The marketplace will support at least 500 traders in its first year, providing them with a dignified and structured environment to conduct business.
  • Women’s Financial Independence: More than 70% of vendors will be women, enhancing their financial stability and community leadership roles.
  • Job Creation: The construction and ongoing operations will create at least 200 direct and indirect jobs in building, maintenance, security, and supply chain management.
  • Sustainability: The marketplace will be self-sustaining through a small levy system, ensuring continued maintenance and expansion without ongoing dependency on external funding.
