As the Branch Trustee - Fundraising you'll support our mission to protect and care for animals in need. In this role, you’ll help our team lead strategic fundraising initiatives.

What will you be doing?

As the Fundraising Trustee, you’ll shape our branch’s fundraising strategy, collaborating closely with other trustees and the branch team to drive income growth. Your strategic guidance and community outreach will empower us to achieve ambitious fundraising goals and ensure long-term financial sustainability.

Key Responsibilities

Fundraising Strategy: Develop and implement effective fundraising plans, aligning efforts with organisational goals and priorities.
Donor Engagement: Build and nurture relationships with donors, sponsors, and partners, strengthening our branch’s network of supporters.
Community Outreach: Lead efforts to engage the local community, enabling the team to organise great events and campaigns to raise funds and awareness.
Income Tracking and Reporting: Oversee fundraising activities’ progress, supporting the team to provide transparent updates to the board and adapting strategies as needed.

Core Trustee Role:

To be familiar with and support the aims and policies of the RSPCA.
To work in conjunction with your fellow trustees and branch officers and jointly act in making decisions for the best interest of the branch and the RSPCA.
Ensure the branch meets all the minimum animal welfare standards (MAWS). Where they are not met, work with national RSPCA staff to meet the standard as soon as practicable.
In conjunction with your fellow trustees and Branch Partnership Manager write, adopt, monitor & review a branch development plan setting out the short and long term aims of your branch.
To actively participate in branch committee meetings and to attend the branch annual general meeting.
To attend the trustee training course.
Where applicable and in conjunction with your fellow trustees, ensure the proper management and control of all activities and decisions relating to any premises held or staff employed by the branch.
To act at all times as a good ambassador for the branch and the society.

What are we looking for?

Experience and Skills

Proven experience in fundraising, business development, or a similar field.
Strong strategic and leadership skills, ideally with a background in charity or non-profit fundraising, aware of the nuances of fundraising within a charity.
Excellent communication and relationship-building abilities, with a talent for engaging and inspiring donors and supporters.
Committed to advancing our mission through innovative and effective fundraising efforts.
