Parkinson's UK groups offer friendship and support for people affected by Parkinson's. In Stockport, the group is a core part of the local Parkinson's community and they are looking for an experienced Treasurer. 

What will you be doing?

Parkinson's UK groups offer friendship, support and numerous activities to people affected by Parkinson's.

In Stockport, the branch is a core part of the local Parkinson's community. You will help manage finances of the groups, making sure they are spent effectively for people affected by Parkinson's.

With a head for numbers, you'll keep track of the funds the group holds, working with staff and volunteers to report on the groups financial activity as required. Experience in accounting or bookkeeping is desirable.

You'll build existing connections and meet new people in your local area, all while making a difference to those living with Parkinson's in the Stockport area.

The group meets regularly, but many of our volunteers undertake parts of their roles from home - at a time that suits you. The Stockport Branch Treasurer will be required to attend some in-person group meetings. 

What are we looking for?

  • Previous experience in finance, accountancy or bookkeeping 
  • Confident with numbers and able to take the lead on the group’s finances
  • Have confident computer and email skills - be open to using new systems and other digital tools
  • Have a commitment to the wider charity’s aims and values
  • Be able to contribute to balanced decisions that take into account multiple views, and to do so in a collaborative, open and inclusive way with committee and local staff
