Support the Parkinson's community to stay active and well, join us as treasurer for the Bassetlaw branch of Parkinson's UK.

This is a flexible role to fit in with your other commitments.

What will you be doing?

Parkinson's UK groups offer friendship, support and numerous activities to people affected by Parkinson's.

In Bassetlaw the branch is a core part of the local Parkinson's community. You will help manage finances of the groups, making sure they are spent effectively for people living with Parkinson's.

With a head for numbers, you'll keep track of the funds the group holds, working with staff and volunteers to report on the groups financial activity as required.

You'll build existing connections and meet new people in your local area, all while making a difference to those living with Parkinson's in the Bassetlaw area.

The group meets each month, but many of our volunteers undertake parts of their roles from home - at a time that suits you.

What are we looking for?

Previous experience in finance, accountancy or bookkeeping.

Confident with numbers and able to take the lead on the group’s finances.

Have confident computer and email skills - be open to using new systems and other digital tools.

Have a commitment to the wider charity’s aims and values.

Be able to contribute to balanced decisions that take into account multiple views, and to do so in a collaborative, open and inclusive way with committee and local staff.

What difference will you make?

We're the Parkinson's charity that drives better care, treatments and quality of life. Because we are here, no one has to face Parkinson's alone.

With your help, we can reach more people in the Bassetlaw area to provide services, and improve life for those affected by Parkinson's and their friends and families.

Before you apply

We have an application process, induction and training for this role. You will be supported by local staff at each stage.
