This is a remote working opportunity with flexible hours for an experienced bookkeeper to assist the Treasurer of Ecclesbourne Valley Railway Association.
This newly created voluntary role entails assisting the Treasurer by entering receipts and payments and raising invoices on Sage, bank reconciliations and compiling some basic reports. The total hours will be in the region of 8 to 12 hours per week and will be completely flexible as long as any deadlines are met. The successful candidate will work from home and report directly to the Treasurer. Experience of working with SAGE, MS Word and MS Excel is required as is access to a computer, printer and the internet. Due to the nature of the work, good references and a DBS check will be required and the successful applicant will be asked to sign a confidentiality agreement. Although this is a WFH position, the applicant should be based within 30 miles of Derby to enable training and occasional meetings with the Treasurer. For insurance purposes the applicant will be made an honorary member of the Association.
The ideal candidate will have good organisational skills and strong IT skills. Experience in finance/banking preferred. The ability to work alongside the Treasurer is essential. Although this is a working from home opportunity, the candidate should be based within a reasonable distance of Wirkworth to facilitate training and occasional face to face meetings. Easy access to a computer, printer and scanner is required.
This is an important role in that it assists the Treasurer in maintaining the financial controls essential to good governance of the Charity.
