The successful volunteer will work closely with the Founding Director, Michael Brown. He has created a successful Not-for-Profit social enterprise that has created a Community Cooking & Wellbeing Kitchen in High Wycombe. Someone with an insight and understanding of Neurodiversity would be preferred. This role will ensure appropriate financial information is available to submit to funders. The successful volunteer will be very much part of the creative team and must have experience of team working at its best.
In terms of working hours these will be agreed upon appointment. It is essential that most of the work is carried out at the office of Empower to Cook CIC so the Founding Director is able to engage face-to-face to support his Neurodiversity.

Personal attributes
The successful candidate will be working with a highly creative Founding Director and will need to understand aspects of neuro diversity (ADHD). The founding director is very open about this and will ensure a clear understanding of how they work best. In a nutshell it is about being in the same room for a conversation.
Empower to Cook CIC is at an exciting point in its history. Funding from the Rothschilds Foundation, Local Government, Public Health plus working with schools and community groups supports our work at the Community Cooking & Wellbeing Kitchen and wider community in High Wycombe and beyond. The aim is to encourage more people - children to adults across all communities - to feel confident about cooking healthy, seasonal and affordable meals.
A report by Sheffield University identified High Wycombe as a 'food insecurity' hotspot with one in three people struggling to access food. Various organisations including Food Banks, Buckinghamshire Council and community groups are working together with Empower to Cook CIC to enable access to good food and the opportunity to explore how to make healthy, tasty meals on a budget.
To be successful Empower to Cook CIC needs an experienced bookkeeper to keep financial records up-to-date, to monitor cashflow and produce monthly financial reports for consideration by the directors of the CIC. Funders expect regular reports and the financial aspects are important.
2 reference will be required. Candidates will have the opportunity to meet with the founding director and his team. The interview can be via Zoom or in person.
