We are a new organisation seeking board members from across the UK with an interest in health and wellbeing, community development, healthcare and/or tabletop games (board games, dominoes, card games). 

What will you be doing?

We are looking for board members with expertise in: 

  • Project management expertise 
  • PR & Marketing experience 
  • Law / Legal expertise 
  • Graphic Design
  • Fundraising & Financial Management 

     

ABOUT TABLETOP RETREAT

Tabletop Retreat is a new voluntary association in Moray focused on supporting the health and wellbeing of hospital in-patients and/or their family members. We also run free sessions in community spaces to reduce isolation and loneliness. Through these sessions, we introduce and teach a wide range of games - both traditional/well known as well as new/modern games. 

We are based at Forres Town Hall and travel around the area with a pop-up games library to ensure our more rural communities are also able to access our sessions. 

 

TERMS OF APPOINTMENT

  • Board members can start with immediate effect 
  • Board members are expected to attend online monthly/6-weekly board meetings (1.5 Hours)
  • There is an additional time commitment of around 1-2 hours per month

 

BOARD ROLE EXPECTATIONS

  • To work alongside other board members to provide strategic direction for Tabletop Retreat
  • To ensure policies and procedures are upheld  
  • Approve operational strategies and policies, and monitor and evaluate their implementation.  
  • To act as an ambassador for Tabletop Retreat
  • To oversee Tabletop Retreat's core values and principles and that projects and events uphold these values 
  • To ensure effective corporate governance, risk management and financial management of Tabletop Retreat
  • To ensure financial competence in spending on project grant funding 
  • To uphold the highest ethical standards of integrity and probity and comply with the Tabletop Retreat Code of Conduct

What are we looking for?

We are seeking trustees that bring a wide range of skills, experience and qualities, including in those areas listed above.

What difference will you make?

Our board members will be instrumental in helping to reduce health inequalities of vulnerable groups. 

They will become part of a team with a strong focus on health and wellbeing through reducing isolation and loneliness.
