Welcome to Reach Volunteering. We are a community and registered charity that connects people, skills and good causes.

To apply for this role, and any other on our platform, you need to be based in the UK, have at least three years of experience using the skills you wish to volunteer in a professional capacity or have lived experience (for trustee roles). Read more about our criteria.

We are developing an innovative bid writing support department that will maximise funding opportunities for NFPs through strategic service design, capacity building, and knowledge-sharing.

What will you be doing?

We are seeking a Volunteer Bid Writing Strategist to play a key role in formulating and structuring this new department. Your focus will be on designing a sustainable, scalable, and high impact bid writing support model for NFPs. As and when needed, there will be an opportunity to write a bid application for AWN.

This is an exciting opportunity to shape a department that will provide direct bid writing services, training, and mentoring for charities, ensuring they have the resources and skills to secure funding effectively.

What are we looking for?

Essential Skills & Experience:

  • Strong experience in bid writing, fundraising strategy, or not-for-profit capacity building.
  • Ability to design and implement scalable support programmes.
  • Excellent strategic thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong understanding of the funding landscape for NFPs.
  • Ability to engage with stakeholders and develop partnerships.

Desirable Skills & Experience:

  • Experience in service design or programme development.
  • Knowledge of adult learning, training design, or mentoring.
  • Experience working within infrastructure organisations or capacity-building initiatives.

What difference will you make?

  • Opportunity to build an innovative, high-impact service for the not-for-profit sector.
  • Gain experience in strategic development, service design, and sector-wide impact initiatives.
  • Work flexibly while making a meaningful difference.
  • Expand your network in the not-for-profit and funding sectors.
