Welcome to Reach Volunteering. We are a community and registered charity that connects people, skills and good causes.

To apply for this role, and any other on our platform, you need to be based in the UK, have at least three years of experience using the skills you wish to volunteer in a professional capacity or have lived experience (for trustee roles). Read more about our criteria.

Talented bid writer needed to help with bid writing medium to larger sized grants to help us acheive our vision of putting care homes at the heart of our communities through magical nature inspired activities.

What will you be doing?

We’re a small social enterprise based in and operating within Hertfordshire but with ambitions to scale across the UK.

We’ve reached the point where our Green Care and Connections activities boxes are  live and tested in the  care home market and we have an exciting concept to explore which will revolutionize our perceptions of what older adults can achieve, whilst also improving the mental health of younger people in local neighbourhoods. However, we’re a tiny team and struggle to get the hours needed to write these bids. We’re looking for a bid writer who can work on a freelance basis to draw our narrative together and make applications.

We have a lot of material from previous bids, a thorough business plan and financials, and a lot of information in our heads so you wouldn’t be starting from scratch.

If anyone has any recommendations or is interested, please let me know. Particularly anyone with knowledge of health and social care, care homes, older adults and dementia care, conservation, youth work and youth issues/ horticulture and environmental sustainability.

What are we looking for?

We are open to conversations and working with anyone who has experience of successful bid writing, particularly with projects which relate to improving the wellbeing of youth and older adults alike.  If you have experience on working on or with charities/non profits concerning the natural environment and horticulture/ environment/conservation - that would be a bonus too.

We're particularly looking for people who would be happy to work remotely and comfortable with virtual calls to discuss bids. We're not fussy where you live in the UK.

What difference will you make?

Your input will shape how we present ourselves to our funders in an increasingly competitive field. With your help we will be able to continue to develop and offer ground breaking activities, caring for humans in need whilst also caring for an environment facing crisis.

Before you apply

Please provide a cover letter detailing why you are interested in this role and your relevant experience.

Interviews will be an informal Zoom chat with CEO.
