Welcome to Reach Volunteering. We are a community and registered charity that connects people, skills and good causes.

To apply for this role, and any other on our platform, you need to be based in the UK, have at least three years of experience using the skills you wish to volunteer in a professional capacity or have lived experience (for trustee roles). Read more about our criteria.

We train young people to maximise their opportunities in the creative industries, empowering them & setting them up for future success. Training is offered at no cost to participants, so we need support finding new funding sources.

What will you be doing?

Reprezent is always over-subscribed. Recently the inequalities and lack of opportunities have greatly increased , with demand for our services growing exponentially. Our last summer training (30 places) received 900 new applicants in the first 2 weeks. We now have over 3000 young people active on our waiting lists.

To meet this demand, we are expanding training, introducing new qualifications, and enhancing services to support local creative talent.

We’ve secured an industry-leading funding strategist and need an experienced bid writer to secure further resources for our beneficiaries.

Recent output:

  • Accredited training in music and radio, mentoring, and artist development through our award-winning FM station (winner of the 2020 Outstanding Contribution to Radio Award).
  • Supporting 1000's of graduates launch companies, gain employment & build performing careers.
  • Key artist development partnerships with Apple & Youth Music
  • An anti-knife crime program with UAL, promoting synchronised, multi-modal responses.
  • A live, interactive peer-to-peer mental health TV show (Winner of the HSJ Mental Health Innovation of the Year Award 2021). Teaching anxiety management techniques and connecting students to health support services. Already reaching over 100,000 students and connecting 10,000+ to vital mental health support.

With increased funding, we can transform more lives and strengthen London’s cultural ecology.

What are we looking for?

We seek an experienced bid writer to support our fundraising strategy lead and our executive team. You’ll identify elements in our programs that align with funders' criteria and ideally bring existing contacts to help secure sustainable, long-term funding.

What difference will you make?

Reprezent has grown over 20 years from a small radio project in Peckham to a London-wide youth station collaborating with top institutions (UAL, The Princes' Trust, Tate) and global brands (Nike, Adidas, Apple, Converse).

Known as the birthplace of stars like Sherelle, Stormzy, Munya Chawawa, Jamz Supernova, Novelist, Kenny Allstar, etc, etc. Reprezent is publicly seen as a hub for emerging talent.

That’s the public persona that we want the audience to see. Behind the scenes, it supports young people from diverse, often challenging backgrounds, including care leavers, the homeless, and those with mental health needs.

With increased funding, Reprezent aims to reach tens of thousands more listeners and participants, transforming lives, the economy, and the British music scene.
