Welcome to Reach Volunteering. We are a community and registered charity that connects people, skills and good causes.

To apply for this role, and any other on our platform, you need to be based in the UK, have at least three years of experience using the skills you wish to volunteer in a professional capacity or have lived experience (for trustee roles). Read more about our criteria.

Social Anxiety Alliance UK is a start-up charity looking for a BABCP registered CBT therapist (with a particular interest in Social Anxiety) to help review and develop content for our website.

What will you be doing?

Please note BABCP accreditation is required for this role.

Social anxiety involves an excessive fear of social situations. Sufferers will often fear being embarrassed, or worry about being negatively evaluated by others. Anticipatory anxiety and situational avoidance are common, and individuals may endure social situations with a high level of discomfort. The scope of the anxiety may be focused on specific types of social situations or generalised to almost any social encounter.

Your role in the small team would be helping reviewing and developing content for our website. This includes writing articles, reviewing guidelines and searching for other helpful material that can be shared to those in need.

What are we looking for?

SAAUK are looking for a passionate and knowledgeable BABCP registered CBT therapist (with a particular interest in social anxiety) to join the small team. We are looking for someone who can commit a small amount of time per week to help review and develop website content - an average 2 hours a week but this can be fully flexible.

Please note BABCP accreditation is required for this role.

What difference will you make?

This role will be key in helping SAAUK (a young and developing charity) expand its information and resources for those who suffer from social anxiety. Social Anxiety is under recognized both publicly and clinically and you will play a key part in helping develop and review the content to help spread awareness whilst providing accurate and up-to-date information.

Before you apply

Please could you provide a cover letter (or write a message within the Reach Application process) so we can understand your interest in working with Social Anxiety Alliance UK.
