Together with Invisible Palace

Bring people together through shared interests for collective activity

What will you be doing?

Would you like to:

  • Contribute your time and experience?
  • Meet new people and build connections locally?
  • See the difference that you can make?

We work in the five boroughs of Bromley, Croydon, Lambeth, Southwark and Lewisham, in the neighbourhoods that surround Crystal Palace Park.

Invisible Palace offers an inclusive programme of arts, cultural, heritage and educational activities and events, working with the local community, for individuals who live, work or study in the area whatever their background.

We take a participant led approach, with the small team developing and running activities championing the needs of those taking part and creating programmes which respond to this need on a local and individual level.

Invisible Palace creates activities which are active and practical, with an emphasis on learning-through-doing which is rooted in the story of the local area and people’s place within it. Through this work people are brought together in a community of interest rather than having their demographic background or life stage be the main factor in defining them.

What are we looking for?

The board is seeking to recruit people with skills in the following

  • Finance

The board of trustees should reflect the range of identities and experiences that make up communities in our local boroughs of Bromley, Croydon, Lambeth, Southwark and Lewisham. We welcome applications from all parts of our local communities. Applicants with lived experience of wellbeing through arts, heritage, and collective activity are encouraged to apply.

What difference will you make?

A trustee role gives you:

  • Involvement in decision making and strategy
  • Influence over how things are run
  • A chance to develop new skills
  • Opportunity to work as part of a small team

Invisible Palace will offer:

  • Induction training
  • Volunteer handbook
  • Reimbursable out of pocket expenses
