RSPCA Leeds & Wakefield Branch is looking for trustees with an enthusiasm for animal welfare but a strong background in business/charity strategy, financial management and governance.

What will you be doing?

Trustees will join a board dedicated to animal welfare but with a strong business focus to ensure sustainability for the charity's future. Areas of special interest could include marketing, volunteer management & training or business & strategic planning all approached with a sense of humour, innovation, drive & enthusiasm. The current board consists of a mix of professional people from various industries and with a very mixed skill set. Trustees are able to be involved in all the different elements of the charity, from business strategy to actual animal care and the board work together with a skilled senior management team to meet the aims & objectives of the National Society and the branch at local level.

What are we looking for?

The branch is keen to meet individuals who feel they have something to contribute and support the RSPCA vision, mission & values. Experience within the charity sector or previously a board member would be helpful but not essential. Experience in a business or governance environment would be useful.

What difference will you make?

The organisation will be sustainable with the help of a strong trustee board, helping to lead the charity through the challenges of the charity sector and animal welfare. The branch can make a difference to the future of welfare in its local community with a focussed team of volunteers, dedicated to preventing animal cruelty and taking this small charity forward to do the very best it can for animal victims.

Before you apply

Please provide a cover letter detailing your interest and relevant experience and an initial meeting with the CEO will be arranged as appropriate. If you have any specific questions, please send them via Reach and we will respond promptly.
