Deadline

13 Oct 2024

Deadline extended due to volume of applications - One day a week administrative support needed for local CIC promoting and educating about the Windrush Generations and their contribution to Ipswich.

What will you be doing?

We are looking for an experienced administrator who is willing to manage email/ phone enquiries, events calendar and bookings spreadsheet for one day a week. You will act as the first point of contact for Ipswich Windrush Society so you must feel comfortable dealing with people at all levels and liaising with other organisations. You will have regular contact with the organisations Directors and so the ability to build rapport quickly is essential. This role can be offered as a fully remote role from home, either as one full day or hours split across the week.

What are we looking for?

Previous experience in a similar role and ability to manage own workload essential. Excellent communication skills and ability to keep team informed. Previous experience working with Google Docs and Trello an advantage but not essential. Access to own computer and internet desirable. As the first point of contact, it is important that you are trustworthy, efficient and organised with a good telephone manner.

What difference will you make?

Ipswich Windrush Society is expanding and widening it's reach. As a result, we are receiving more contact from external organisations and individuals looking to work with us, particularly with regards to our Schools Programme. Having someone who is regularly available to manage the emails and respond to enquiries will take pressure of the organisation's founder, who delivers the workshop programme. It will also ensure that our response to enquiries has a much shorter turnaround time which would benefit both ourselves and any potential collaborators.

  • Please apply through Reach in the first instance. Shortlisted candidates will be asked to complete our additional application form where you will have the opportunity to upload your CV.
