Omef seeks a proactive volunteer who can support us with administration tasks, and organisation of small community events. You will play a pivotal role in enhancing our presence and expanding our reach as we develop the charity.  

What will you be doing?

At the Oscar Montgomery Environmental Foundation (omef) our mission is to inspire action and preserve the precious marine ecosystems that our planet’s oceans hold. Created in memory of the late Oscar Montgomery we are passionate and dedicated to creating a legacy and engaging our community.

We’re looking for a volunteer who can support us with executing tasks required to develop our platform. 

This may include, formulating & circulating emails to members and community organisations, social media support, event organisation tasks; finding locations, sharing the opportunity, and other tasks that may be required.  

We are looking for someone who has an understanding of the marine conservation space and can support the charity as we look to build our presence. 

We are looking to grow our reach and be able to better engage our supportive community, as we look to develop the charity. We are a small but dedicated team, and are focused on growing further in time. You will work remotely but with in person meetings when required to suit your availability. We hope that you will be able to contribute 4 hours each week to suit your availability, with the primary focus of this role is to support the charity execute activities which will enable us to grow our audience, engage with stakeholders, and drive greater awareness of omef's mission and impact.

What are we looking for?

Skills / Experience

  • Experience in Office and Administration Management
  • Able to demonstrate good listening skills and able to follow instructions.
  • Ability to coordinate and manage workload and helping to organise events.
  • Able to work within a team and independently effectively.
  • Passionate about being involved long term in a small charity, to help improve our efficiency.
  • Excellent eye for detail.
  • Competent in using basic IT software, and has access to this.
  • Excellent communication skills with internal and external contacts using a range of platforms - emails, telephone, social media.
