We are looking for 1 month of time, with around 6 hours each week.

The Hong Kong Scots is a non-profit Community Interest Company which supports integration of Hongkongers into Scotland regardless of immigration status. We are looking for a volunteer accountant who can facilitate our annual account and filing.

What will you be doing?

The volunteer should be able to help us on

  • Filing CT600 to Companies House based on our annual accounts at the Companies House via digital means. We don't have a complex structure and finance, so we expect the workload won't be huge.
  • Navigating the software that fits nonprofits like us, which run on a budget.
  • Suggesting the best practice to file tax returns and annual accounts to our directors

What are we looking for?

  • Accounting and filing CT600 experience via digital means
  • Have experience in dealing with nonprofit's micro accounts, but not necessary

What difference will you make?

By helping us complete the annual account for our initiative, we can move on to the following steps to look for more non-profit funding exclusive to CICs with at least two years of operation and an HRMC Tax return. That would help us unlock Hongkongers' potential to make Scotland a better place.

A certificate of appreciation will be awarded after the successful submission of the return.
