Welcome to Reach Volunteering. We are a community and registered charity that connects people, skills and good causes.

To apply for this role, and any other on our platform, you need to be based in the UK, have at least three years of experience using the skills you wish to volunteer in a professional capacity or have lived experience (for trustee roles). Read more about our criteria.

RAKAT CT provides essential accessible transport to charities and non-profit organisations in and around the London Borough of Richmond and the Royal Borough of Kingston upon Thames.

What will you be doing?

By using RAKAT CT minibuses, local organisations can plan outings and activities for their members at affordable tariffs that may not otherwise be possible.  Our work is with groups who provide services to those more vulnerable in our community including the frail elderly and those with limited mobility.  The outings arranged range from small local shopping trips to more adventurous activity based or cultural visits.  Each journey enabled by RAKAT CT benefits not only our service users but can often provide much needed respite for carers.

RAKAT CT is seeking applications from individuals with finance and accounting skills and experience to join our Board initially as a Trustee but with a view to taking on the role of Treasurer.

As this is a small organisation, we are looking for someone to take on a role as Treasurer which will include accounts preparation including budgets and forecasting. The current treasurer does the payroll, some of the bookkeeping and reconciliation work, which takes some 3 days a month, which will need to be outsourced if the replacement Treasurer has insufficient time.

Trustees would need to play a full part in the work of the Board which meets formally five times a year.  Trustees are elected/re-elected on an annual basis and are the corporate members of the Charity.

As a Trustee, your experience and support will help ensure that we are best placed to deal with evolving funding requirements and that we are able to continue supporting our local communities in the future.  The Board holds formal meetings five times a year, we are seeking Trustees who would be willing to provide additional input on an ad hoc and project basis as needs are identified.

Trustee meetings are held at RAKT CT premises, currently based in New Malden and ideally, we are seeking Trustees who live or work in or near our service areas of the London Borough of Richmond or Royal Borough of Kingston Upon Thames.

What are we looking for?

We are seeking applicants with Finance and accounting experience with a view to taking on the role of Treasurer

What difference will you make?

In becoming a Trustee, you would form part of our small, friendly team and you would have the opportunity to use your time to make a real difference to the community in these difficult times and ensure the survival of the Charity.
