Welcome to our new Reach trustees

We are excited to announce the appointment of four new trustees to Reach's board. They bring a rich mix of expertise and experience including equality, diversity and inclusion, small charity leadership and service design, and energy and passion for Reach’s mission and purpose. We are looking forward to their contribution.

Gus Alston

I am an experienced leader in the small charity sector, successfully and simultaneously tackling a variety of roles, including CEO, trustee and consultant, plus occasional volunteer coach, photographer and chef.

I believe in the skills and talents of others, empowering and supporting people through trust and a degree of calculated risk taking to provide growth opportunities. I'm driven by my interest in people, and I'm equally comfortable working at all levels of the organisations I lead and works with, believing that every person, and indeed every interaction holds potential.

I am excited to join such a dynamic and skilled team, and look forward to supporting Reach to become an ever stronger voice in this amazing sector of exceptional humans.

Priyanka Bedia

I believe in shared purpose and collective action and am lucky to be joining Reach’s board to continue supporting thousands of volunteers and charities to achieve their goals.

With a background in engineering and design, I currently work as director of strategy at the London Screen Academy, focused on diversifying the Film and TV industry. The impact Reach can have in helping diversify the charity sector is immense and I’m so excited to be part of that journey. I’m looking forward to bringing my human-centred design approach and business development experience to help scale Reach’s impact for the future.

Saskia Bewley

I am a diversity and inclusion practitioner with experience working across large, creative, commercial and information economy businesses. I am currently head of diversity and inclusion at Hachette UK, where I am advising on diversity and inclusion strategy, and worked previously at Informa as the first diversity and inclusion expert across the global FTSE 100 company. My academic background includes a focus on globalisation, diversity and the workplace, and I hold an MSc in Intercultural Communication for Business and the Professions.

I want to be part of Reach's board because I believe strongly in skills-based volunteering as a way of giving that is responsible, thoughtful and productive, to provide charities with support where it is most needed. I value the thought leadership that Reach provides and am passionate about equality, diversity and inclusion for strengthening charity governance.

Karwai Ng

I am a service designer and digital anthropologist with over seven years of experience leading and facilitating service design projects in the UK and Asia. I've worked at companies including Amazon, HSBC, and Publicis Sapient, and am passionate about shaping design methods to build more sustainable products/services.

After joining Reach as a volunteer user researcher in 2020, I have joined Reach's board in 2021 to help evolve Reach's design-led approaches, and to learn from the talented team around me! It's my ambition and belief that service design can also learn from Reach.
