Resolving the ongoing issues with our servers

Over the last few weeks, you may have noticed that our website has been intermittently slow and at times, unusable. We apologise wholeheartedly and have worked hard to resolve this as quickly as possible including changing hosting providers. We believe that the problems have now all been fixed.

Unfortunately, some email notifications were not sent out during this period. We believe that we have identified and resent most of these email notifications. However, if you have any open applications, please check your dashboard to see if there are any new messages and if you are waiting on a reply, please send a follow up.

We know the last few weeks have made it difficult to use our service. Again, please accept our sincerest apologies and thank you for your patience and understanding.

One positive outcome is that the change in our hosting provider means that reachvolunteering.org.uk is now powered by 100% renewable energy

Welcome to our new, faster and greener site!

You may have noticed that our website has been very slow, intermittently, over the last couple of weeks. At times, it has been so slow, it’s been unusable, and we apologise for this.

We’ve traced the problem back to our hosting providers. We have been working to resolve the problem, and while we have made some headway, we have not yet been able to identify a reliable solution.

As a result, we are in the process of changing hosting providers. We aim to complete this by the 26 September. In the meantime, you may continue to experience poor performance on our website.

Problems could include:

  • Website being very slow, or crashing
  • Delays in our review process for new organisations, roles, volunteers and applications
  • Postcode searches may not work
  • Some email notifications for messages (e.g. applications and replies) may not be sent. We estimate that this has affected roughly 10% of messages. You will receive an alert on the screen if this affects a message you are sending.

We are working hard to reduce the impact on you, and to sort it out as quickly as possible. Further updates on our progress and possible downtime will be available on our site and via Twitter, later in the week.

In the meantime, please accept our sincerest apologies and bear with us as we resolve the problem.

Thank you for your patience.
