We are excited to announce the appointment of Jane Ide OBE (pictured) as our new Chair of Trustees and Deborah Morton-Dare as our new Treasurer.
Jane Ide is CEO of ACEVO, the national membership body for civil society leaders in England and Wales, and previously held the role of CEO of NAVCA, the national body for local voluntary sector infrastructure in England. She is also a trustee of the Access Foundation for Social Investment, and was made an OBE in 2021 for her services to charity and to volunteering.
Jane will be succeeding former Chair of Trustees, Andrew Dent whose term as Chair will come to an end in September. Andrew has led Reach Volunteering for nine years as Chair during a period of significant change, the transition to an online service and, this year, the creation of a fresh vision and mission.
Deborah Morton-Dare brings substantial experience as a Chartered Accountant, Company Director and trainer on corporate governance for the Institute of Directors. She replaces Graham Warner who has served as Treasurer for 9 years.
On joining Reach, Jane said, “It is a real privilege to be offered the opportunity to chair Reach Volunteering, an organisation I have known and held in high regard for many years, and to be working alongside its CEO Janet Thorne at a time of real opportunity and development for the charity.”
“Volunteers working at all levels within our sector bring enormously valuable experience and perspectives to bear as we navigate the continuing challenges of a post-pandemic landscape.
“At the same time, the pandemic has brought to the fore the deep rooted willingness of people from all walks of life and with hugely diverse skills and capabilities to step up and offer their help in a wide variety of contexts.
“Reach Volunteering sits at the heart of that relationship and it is exciting to have the chance to contribute my own skills in order to help others contribute theirs.”
Chief Executive, Janet Thorne, said: “We are thrilled to appoint Jane as Chair. She brings a wealth of experience of leading infrastructure charities, and a strong commitment to leading with values and we are excited for the next phase in Reach’s growth and development.”
“We are also delighted to appoint Deborah as Treasurer and are looking forward to benefiting from her experience. I want to thank the outgoing Chair and Treasurer, Andrew and Graham, who have given so many years of dedicated service and will be leaving Reach immeasurably stronger than when they joined.”
